The Last of the Vyr

In ancient times, there was a race of man called the Vyr, who were recruited as warriors and body guards to the highest powers. This race of man was different than the rest. Their bodies could withstand impossibly cold temperatures while being perfectly cool under fatal heat. They were masters in every weapon possible and even skilled at hand to hand combat. But this wasn’t what was important about them. They were recruited as body guards because they could transform into wolves anytime they wanted and they were immortal.
During the second war among the Empire of the Ice Sheets, a Sorcerer by the name of Khali commanded an army of Vyr to attack the Emperor Morgan and rightly claim his throne. Khali’s Commanding General, Lucian, and the first Vyr to be recruited by man, openly went against Kali’s command and was forced to watch, in punishment, as Khali wiped out his own species. It had stopped the war but Lucian was forced to live with his guilt for centuries.
Khali continued to wage war on the Emperor for seven centuries but it all resulted in bloodshed and death. Lucian retreated to the far corners of the Ice Sheets where he wouldn’t be found by Kali or anyone. He was the last surviving Vyr.
Soon, the Vyr became legendary and rumors got out that they were living in the mountains of the Ice Sheets. Search parties began and rumors flew as some claimed to have spotted some. Lucian retreated even further in the mountains till he came to the old part of the Empire, Forgotten Pass, where he stayed. No one dared to cross here because Wytches and all sorts of creatures of the night roamed here.
It wasn’t till four centuries later that Lucian’s life changed forever.

He had heard the cry over the screaming winds from high up on the mountain pass. It wavered some before starting up, just as strong. The baby that had been left as the bottom of the mountains was obviously a sacrifice to the creatures the humans believed to live within its walls. Lucian scoffed. How pathetically minded humans were.
He left the comfort of his cave to simply put the thing out of its misery. It wouldn’t last three more minutes out in this weather especially if it was naked. The scent of the child was lost to the swirling winds but Lucian was able to follow its voice to the location at the bottom of the mountain.
His grey and black fur blended perfectly with the rocks of the mountain but stood out horribly against the white of the blinding snow. The cold didn’t bother him though. As a Vyr, the cold barely touched his skin, barely registered as being cold.
He approached the crying baby and stopped dead. He expected to see a human child shivering in the snow, almost blue with the usual blue eyes of a newborn. But this wasn’t a human child. It’s skin was flawless, tanner than the average Ice Sheets citizen but that of a citizen of the Forgotten Pass. It immediately stopped crying as it sensed Lucian above her and opened beautiful bright violet eyes, the eyes of a Vyr.
She, as it was obviously a she, smiled up at Lucian and held out a tiny hand, as if welcoming him to her little spot. Lucian hadn’t turned human in years but he felt himself falling to his knees and picking up the child in two hands, studying her. He was the last of his breed, the last Vyr to walk the expanse of the Empire. This proved that the Goddess wished to bring them back and She had just handed him the way. He stood up and started back up the path to the Ice Sheets; carrying the baby with him. He decided to name her Catalina and promised her that he would teach her all she needed to know about being a Vyr and, when the time came, she would know what to do.

Some new ideas are going to be passed around soon so please check the suggestions board often to look for new ideas to vote on. So far, activity is doing great! Getting members is still top priority though. See if you can get some more members!

	Goldmoor Crags (2 sub-boards) This is the Capital city of the Icesheets, where the once glorious Khali reined. Except now, the palace is a forlorn, dark and empty. Snows fill the halls almost waist deep in drifts and the paths and walkways are completly gone. The city still thrives with an abundance of life and different crafts. 	Crystal Lake The lake receives its name from the sheen ice that makes the lake top a usually solid barrier from anyone swimming in its depths. The water is clear, giving anyone who stands on the surface down into the water. The lake is surrounded by great mountains, and is used commonly for ice fishing. Beware, for the ice can be deceiving and not be as thick as it appears. Many times the freezing waters have claimed lives of those whole fall through thin ice and are unable to get out. 	Grand Mountains Mountain litter much of the land of Icesheets. Between the breaks of these large snowcovered rocks lie many villages. It is easy to get lost, and the depth of snow can be deceiving. Many people who do not know the mountain paths have died when getting lost while taking a walk through the snow. Hunting is common up in the mountains, but many creatures reside here as well that do not like being hunted. Being careful where you wander, for a beast or snow could kill you out here if you take the wrong turn through the snow and ice. Moderators: Luke, Lady Xen, Catalina	0	0
	Village There are thousands of villages around the Icesheets but this one is at the bottom of the mountain, where Lucian gets his main supplies. It also holds one of the secret libraries around the world that has the stories of the past, the Great War and even secrets of the Sorcerers. 	Lucian's Cave At the end of the Great War, Lucian crawled to this cave high on the mountains to escape the horror he had caused to his entire race. When he found Catalina, he raised her and trained her here. Both Luke and Catalina live here with Lucian in the hopes to train more Vyr once they find more. At the back of the cave, a tunnel leads out to the other side of the mountain that overlooks the Icesheets. It's the only way to get to the Forgotten Pass. Lucian keeps it well guarded. 	The Forgotten Pass This is the only chunk of land that connects the Icesheets with the Forgotten lands. If it's even connected at all. Small chunks of land float on open space that is a never ending drop into oblivion. But, these land masses don't stay still. They move especially in bad weather. Sometimes, there are spaces so wide between on land mass and the next, that it's impossible to get across. Hope you have good balance. 	The Games The sorcerers care nothing for their slave humans beside giving them whatever they want. When they are bored, they go out in the world and recruit slaves with considerable skills to play in the Games. If a human wins the games, they battle the Sorcerer's main guard, a Demon. 	Great Forest This is a large forest that claims most of the land of Forgotten Lands. These woods can be thick and full of dangers and shadows or thin with peaceful creeks and pleasant clearings. These woods are full of many creatures for food, but be careful, for there are many animals that will not take well to being hunted. As well as other unmentionable dangers hidden in the shadows. 	The Rebels' Landing Hidden deep in the forgotten lands lies the ruined buildings of where the rebels call home. A tall castle like building stands in ruins from the years of being left abandoned. Wrapped around the ruined building is a rusting metal fence. It was to keep others out but now it isn't much of protection. Bricks fall from the walls almost on a daily bases now. Vines creep up the walls, weaving in and out of the holes from the fallen bricks, the roof has some holes but they have been patched by the rebels. Entering the building the floors are solid wood with little scratches on them, furniture is keep nice and without any rips in the fabric. 	Lake Pine This large lake has some of the bluest and freshest water found anywhere in Forgotten Lands. The water has a clean beach stretching along one side, while tall grasses surround the rest of the expanse. A thick forest surrounds the whole lake, the area of the lake being like a clearing in the great forest.
